Description
CBV002 is an eurorack adaptation of Discret11, which is based on an analog encryption system of the same name used by pay TV in the 90s.
It works by delaying the signal by a few hundreds of nanoseconds, resulting in an horizontal displacement and hue shift.
NTSC/PAL compatible
PCB Set: includes Main/Control/Panel PCBs as well as obsolete part (LM1881, TDA4565, CD4006).

Update on standalone options for CBV001, Stable and Détail: the enclosures are now available separately on Syntonie webshop.
This is mostly to make it easier in terms of keeping things in stock, and so there’s no wait for a specific batch of standalone units to be put together (as long as modules and enclosures are in stock of course).
It can also be a way to offload your modular case by making the module standalone.

Note that Détail can be made standalone, the enclosure and power supply are now available as a separate listing on Syntonie webshop.
I’ll make a dedicated post about standalone options soon.

Détail is now available through Syntonie website! Some units will be on their way to retailers soon as well.
Inspired by old school video detailers, it is based around a lowpass/highpass filter, which can either soften/blur or enhance/sharpen the incoming video signal. It outputs a fully compliant Composite/Component Y video signal, meaning that the effects it produces can be pushed to the extreme without requiring stabilisation (unlike most analog glitch video devices).

It took me ages, but it’s finally there! The videosynth/rutt-etra vectorsynth. It’s not the build itself that took so long, but troubleshooting the essential modules was a true horror. But: it works! (Sort of... that empty 4hp is for my finger to touch the crystals of the RGB encoder to kickstart the machine...).
A modular seems to be never finished, but this certainly looks like one stage of it has been completed. Now let’s see how this thing works...

Just came back from Berlin, remembered to take photos this time, here processed with CBV001, Stable and Détail, recorded in Composite PAL/576i50.
I had great time, it was nice to do visuals at @synthmuseumberlin for @robinburkeberlin audio performance, with an amazing opening act of @fl.o_flo!

Already gave it my standard color coding treatment. 💖 Will be some time before I get my house back in order and can test this out, but I guarantee the very first thing I`m gonna say when I run a signal into it is "ENHANCE!" 🤣

Experimenting with Détail low-pass/blur mode.
The external video (a still extracted from Takeshi Kitano’s Hanabi) is processed through Détail first, then going through Stable for the solarization effect and color boost. The frequency of Détail low-pass filter, defining how much blur is applied to the source video, is controlled using luma and/or shapes from Rampes, going through Seuils to generate hard keys, allowing to blur only some parts of the frame.
Here, Détail only filters the luma/black and white information, so the colors remain, and are further boosted with Stable. Some glitch devices like CBV001 can do some low-pass filtering as well, but result in a loss of the colors most of the time.
Source video was rotated 90° and rotated back after recording, so the horizontal lines created by the blurring becomes vertical. Recorded in Composite PAL/576i50, using BM Analog to SDI + Decklink Duo 2.
