Happy 2026, as always, thanks for the support during the past year!
2025 has been a bit slow in terms of releases for Syntonie, mostly as the focus was made on production and re-stocking the existing line up of modules, so the good news is that (almost) everything is in stock currently!
Two modules were released last year:
Détail, a Composite video filter that builds upon Syntonie analog glitch legacy, bringing some classic analog video effects in modular format, with voltage controllable parameters so it integrates perfectly in the 1V ecosystem.
And Sortie, the new incarnation of our RGB encoder/sync generator, the heart and brain of any video synthesis system.

Wishing you happy holidays! As always, thanks for your support, constantly amazed by all the creations you all make with our gear!
Orders will resume shipping on January 3rd.
Will write a proper update post once I`m back from holiday, mostly about the soon to be released VU modules, and other things coming next.
In the meantime, here`s a patch I made while recording the demo video on how to use VU with CBV.
Video source is an AI generated face thanks to thispersondoesnotexist.com, it is then processed through CBV002->CBV001.
On the modulation side, VU003 is used to extract luminance from the video signal and used to modulate CBV001 enhance level. Then, a pattern is generated using 2x VU009 (sawtooth oscillators), which are phase shifted with VU008 (dual ramp shifters), itself modulated by VU006 to make a circular movement. It is then doubled with VU002 and mixed with VU010 (triple 2:1 mixer) to make those moving diamonds shape, which are used to modulate CBV002 delay/hue shift. Finally, using CBV002 luminance key feature to key between original and hue shifted video.
Recorded in NTSC using BM Intensity and upscaled to 4K in software (in order to mitigate IG/FB compression algorithm).

In combination with Entrée and Sortie, Seuils makes for a nice coloriser by processing R, G and B channels from an external video source.
Entrée converts the external Component video signal to RGB, so it can be processed by Seuils, and Sortie encodes the resulting RGB back to Component.
Patching feedback from Seuils outputs back into its CV input generates glitchy effects like ringing and/or clipping.

Seuils is back in stock!
Here, it is used to modulate Stable parameters, with Stable pre-proc output going to Seuils inputs, making this keyed/clipped-like effect. Stable post-proc output is going into Seuils CV to add some feedback, with Seuils attenuverters controlling the amount of feedback.

Recorded a demo video to show how to use VU and CBV modules in a system without a sync generator/RGB encoder. Until now, only VU001/VU002/VU003 were useful in such a setup. The only missing ingredient was an oscillator that can be synced through RCA, which makes other modules from the VU serie relevant for pattern generation, used to modulate CBV001/CBV002 CV inputs here. Full length video and more information on the new VU modules soon.

Animate EXP and Solaire are back in stock!
Here is one of my go-to patch: ramps and shapes from Rampes into Cadrans, with amplitude modulation from Animate + Animate EXP to add some motion. Outputs of Cadrans into Solaire, outputs of Solaire into ReverseLandfill Matrix Mixer, encoded in Component 720p60 with Sortie.
(Note that this is the last batch of Animate EXP and it won’t be re-stocked, so probably time to grab one to add some waveforms to your Animate)

Stable is back in stock!
I was asked if Cadrans would make a good addition to Stable. While it is probably not as instantly gratifying as other processors like Solaire, Seuils or Isohélie, Cadrans and its amplitude modulation is a good way to modulate how much feedback is applied to Stable.
To do so, Stable post-proc output is connected to Cadrans input, output of Cadrans going back to Stable CV inputs, closing the feedback loop. Then, a pitch sequence from a step sequencer (here a Beatstep Pro) is used as CV for Cadrans, essentially automating the feedback in sync with the music.

Three new VU modules are now available!
- VU008 is a dual ramp phase shifter, based on B. Hutchins Multiphase Waveform Animator.
It phase shifts ramp waveforms, which result in an horizontal/vertical displacement of the ramp and will waveshape other periodic waveforms.
Interesting to add animation to ramp based shape generation by means of slow modulation of the shift, audio/video rate modulation results in complex patterns generation.
- VU009 is a video rate sawtooth oscillator, based on P. Baljeu Castle VCO and T. Henry X4046 VCO. It features FM input and voltage offset of the output waveform.
Comes in two versions: 14pin sync and RCA sync by the means of two different power/sync boards.
- VU010 is a triple 2:1 mixer, each mixer sums two 1V signals into another 1V signal. Useful for H and V mixing or to mix two RGB triplets.
1st mixer output is normalised to 2nd mixer input, 2nd mixer output normalised to 3rd mixer input, allowing to sum 4 signals with different weigthing of each signal (since each mixer divide the signals by 2 in order to produce a 1V output).
By plugging a single signal to the input of the 1st mixer, output of the 1st mixer will produce a copy of the signal divided by 2, 2nd mixer output divided by 4 and 3rd mixer output divided by 8.
