Triple, 2-way mixer, allowing to sum two 0-1V signals into one 0-1V output.
Can be used as 3 independant 2-way mixers to create shapes out of H and V signals, or as a 4-input mixer by means of jack normalisation (output of the first mixer is mixed with the second one, output of the second one mixed with the third one).

Luma keying is a good way to constrain effects to certain parts of the source image.
Here, Détail pre-filter output is connected to Seuils which generates hard keys out of it, with each channel of Seuils controlling each of the parameters of Détail.

Long time no sync!
Past month has been quite busy, been working on setting up a fixed video recording setup (finally), and here is the first recording made with it! (Need to work on the lighting still).
The now classic Détail and CBV001 combo, with CBV001 used to process the modulation going to Détail. Getting the best of CBV001 distorsion without worrying about loss of sync as Détail preserves it.
Recorded in Composite PAL 576i50.
Stock of Détail and CBV001 are low, so might be the right time to grab one!

Three new video synth modules from the excellent Syntonie are now available!
- VU008 is a dual ramp phase shifter, based on B. Hutchins Multiphase Waveform Animator.
It phase shifts ramp waveforms, which result in an horizontal/vertical displacement of the ramp and will waveshape other periodic waveforms.
Interesting to add animation to ramp based shape generation by means of slow modulation of the shift, audio/video rate modulation results in complex patterns generation.
- VU009 is a video rate sawtooth oscillator, based on P. Baljeu Castle VCO and T. Henry X4046 VCO. It features FM input and voltage offset of the output waveform.
Comes in two versions: 14pin sync and RCA sync by the means of two different power/sync boards.
- VU010 is a triple 2:1 mixer, each mixer sums two 1V signals into another 1V signal. Useful for H and V mixing or to mix two RGB triplets.
1st mixer output is normalised to 2nd mixer input, 2nd mixer output normalised to 3rd mixer input, allowing to sum 4 signals with different weigthing of each signal (since each mixer divide the signals by 2 in order to produce a 1V output).
By plugging a single signal to the input of the 1st mixer, output of the 1st mixer will produce a copy of the signal divided by 2, 2nd mixer output divided by 4 and 3rd mixer output divided by 8.

It`s been a while since I`ve posted which is silly of me because I was creating but various things were happening & required time, energy & attention.
Regardless, here`s a couple of 1 min vids making use of the Visible Signals #ONEofFOUR & two #GainBrain modules. But what has really made my day is getting to use the soon-to-be-released #SYNTONIE #VU009 VCO & the #VU010 Mixer & both play their parts in this patch. As do the lzxindustries #LZXDoorway, #LZXStaircase, #LZXnavigator, #LZXvisualCortex, 2x #CastleVCO & the #LZXcadetVCO. Not to forget a very useful triple LFO module from Martijn at the #ReverseLandfill HQ.

Update on standalone options for CBV001, Stable and Détail: the enclosures are now available separately on Syntonie webshop.
This is mostly to make it easier in terms of keeping things in stock, and so there’s no wait for a specific batch of standalone units to be put together (as long as modules and enclosures are in stock of course).
It can also be a way to offload your modular case by making the module standalone.
Pictures are Détail in its standalone incarnation.

Note that Détail can be made standalone, the enclosure and power supply are now available as a separate listing on Syntonie webshop.
I’ll make a dedicated post about standalone options soon.

Wishing you happy holidays! As always, thanks for your support, constantly amazed by all the creations you all make with our gear!
Orders will resume shipping on January 3rd.
Will write a proper update post once I`m back from holiday, mostly about the soon to be released VU modules, and other things coming next.
In the meantime, here`s a patch I made while recording the demo video on how to use VU with CBV.
Video source is an AI generated face thanks to thispersondoesnotexist.com, it is then processed through CBV002->CBV001.
On the modulation side, VU003 is used to extract luminance from the video signal and used to modulate CBV001 enhance level. Then, a pattern is generated using 2x VU009 (sawtooth oscillators), which are phase shifted with VU008 (dual ramp shifters), itself modulated by VU006 to make a circular movement. It is then doubled with VU002 and mixed with VU010 (triple 2:1 mixer) to make those moving diamonds shape, which are used to modulate CBV002 delay/hue shift. Finally, using CBV002 luminance key feature to key between original and hue shifted video.
Recorded in NTSC using BM Intensity and upscaled to 4K in software (in order to mitigate IG/FB compression algorithm).

Détail is now available through Syntonie website! Some units will be on their way to retailers soon as well.
Inspired by old school video detailers, it is based around a lowpass/highpass filter, which can either soften/blur or enhance/sharpen the incoming video signal. It outputs a fully compliant Composite/Component Y video signal, meaning that the effects it produces can be pushed to the extreme without requiring stabilisation (unlike most analog glitch video devices).
